Day 1 Arrive in Malé, transfer to hotel

Welcome to the tropical island paradise of the Maldives! Upon arrival you will be greeted at the airport by our representative and transferred by boat to the capital city of Malé. Spend the rest of the day settling in after your flight and exploring Malé, where 100,000 people reside in only 4 square kilometres!

Day 2 Local Island Stay

After breakfast, you will leave Male behind and are transferred (by speedboat) to a local island, where you will discover how the true Maldivians live. Our local guide will show you around the island, and give you loads of information about life on a tropical island, in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Day 3 Local Island Stay

Continue your ‘Robinson Crusoe’ experience and spend a full day at leisure either on the local island or take a trip to a nearby uninhabited, picnic island. This makes for a perfect day of snorkeling or just sunbathing with the occasional cool-down-dip. Alternatively you can visit a small island resort to flirt with the luxury the Maldives is renowned for. Later, dinner is an experience in its own right. Held either at the lodge or a BBQ on the beach, you will be treated to authentic Maldivian food and a "bodu beru", a traditional singing, dancing, drumming cultural show.

Day 4 Start your Sea Safari!

Today you start what we consider is by far the best way to explore the sights and coral islands of the Maldives! Jump aboard our spacious ‘live-aboard’ yacht, and forget about all your troubles back home. The yacht cruises at a gentle pace so that you can take in all of the breath taking scenery as you visit several uninhabited islands, sand bars and coral reefs. Snorkelling gear is included and you'll be amazed at the variety and quantity of marine life you'll see. The crew are there for your comfort and safety and will make sure this trip is an experience of a lifetime.

Day 5 Sea Safari continued…

You've more time today to work on your sun tan or play ‘shipwreck’ on an uninhabited island. The Maldives are famous for large numbers of manta rays, dolphins, and the world’s biggest fish – the Whale Shark! Whether you snorkel or scuba, this is a great opportunity to experience arguably the vastest array of sea life on the planet (diving equipment and escorted dives are available for certified diver - costs paid on board). In the evening, what better a way to end the day of sun, sand and sea, than by joining the crew for a sunset beach barbeque.

Day 6 Sea Safari continued…

Another day of blissful relaxation or exploring the islands! The yacht is spacious, and there is plenty of room to pull up a deck chair and soak up the peace and quiet. The crew will take you to more islands and coral reefs known to attract different species of fish and marine life. Don’t forget to take plenty of pictures!

It is a short transfer today to one of the Maldives' famous 5-star island resorts. Luxury awaits your arrival, and for the next three days you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and stunning waters around the island. There are numerous water sport options and excursions which you can participate in, including jet skiing, tubing, parasailing as well as more great snorkelling and scuba-diving. Notes: On some dates we may amend the itinerary so that the sea safari is done before the local island stay. To try to guarantee that all our departure dates will run, we set a low minimum number of just two travellers. However, at the low prices we are offering, we need a minimum of 10 travellers in each group in order to run the 3 night sea safari section of the tour. On the very rare occasions that we may have between 2 and 9 travellers in a group, we may adjust the itinerary to miss the sea safari and replace it with extra time at the 5-star resort and local islands. When we have larger numbers (between around 15-24), we will split into two halves to maintain the small group feel. The two groups may then do the sea safari and Male & local island stays in a different order before joining together for the final few nights at the 5-star resort.
