Traversing the South African coast from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, this 9-day tour takes you along the famous ‘Garden Route’ stopping at some of the most iconic tourist attraction that this wonderful country has to offer.

After taking in the sights and sounds of Cape Town we head inland to Stellenbosch, famous for its world class wines and historic grandeur. We’ll also visit the Cheetah Breeding Centre to experience these animals up close and personal. From here we make our way through the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains to visit the impressive limestone caverns of the Cango caves and an ostrich farm in the Oudsthoorn area. The next day we will depart for the beautiful seaside town of Knysna.

Our next stop is the Tsitsikamma National Park where you can enjoy jungle walks, treetop canopy tours, blackwater tubing and the highest Bungee jumping in the world. Continuing east we take a game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park which is home to many of Africa’s big game.

Our final destination is the coastal town of Port Elizabeth where your tour ends.

Day 1 Arrive into Cape Town, transfer to hotel
 
After your arrival in Cape Town one of our representatives will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for the start of your trip. They’ll help you settle in and introduce you to the local area and explain plans for tomorrow morning.

Your day is free in Cape Town today to either arrange your own sightseeing and exploring, or to take one of our optional tours.

Day 3 Stellenbosch Wine Route
 
Leaving the mother city of Cape Town behind, we drive to the famous town of Stellenbosch, known worldwide for its quality wines, spectacular beauty, oak trees and historical buildings. Here we will have time to explore the town and sample some excellent wine from one of the local wine farms. Afterwards we will drive to the Cheetah Breeding Centre to experience these animals up close and personal. On clear days the magnificent mountain scenery makes for a memorable first day. On arrival at our accommodation for the night, your guides will brief you on what to expect from the days ahead. Optional activity: Dinner out.

Day 4 Cango Caves and Oudtshoorn
 
The Cango Caves are some of the most impressive limestone caverns and the different formations are quite astonishing. Today we take a guided tour of the Cango Caves. Stalagmites or Stalagtites? Can you tell the difference? You will have the opportunity to visit an Ostrich farm later in the afternoon. Tonight we stay in Oudtshoorn. Optional Activity: Ostrich Farm visit.

Day 5 Knysna/Plettenberg Bay
 
We continue along the Garden Route and travel through the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains towards Knysna. Your afternoon is free to explore Knysna, one of South Africa’s most popular seaside towns. Optional Activities: Elephant Encounter, Township Tour, Monkey town, Birds of Eden, lagoon cruise.

Days 6-7 Bloukrans and Tsitsikamma National Park
 
One of South Africa’s best-kept secrets is the Tsitsikamma National Park. Boasting exceptional hiking trails and superb coastal scenery Tsitsikamma is a destination that many people will return to. The first few hours of the famous Otter Trail Hike are included in your Activity Package. For those needing an adrenaline boost the nearby Bloukrans Bridge is home to the world’s highest bungee jump at 216m! Optional Activities: Bungee jumping (highest in the world), treetop canopy tours, blackwater tubing (min 4 clients).

Day 8 Addo Elephant National Park
 
Continuing to the Eastern Cape, we enter Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to many of Africa’s big game. Our truck gives us an elevated view on our game drive this afternoon, particularly good for the photographic enthusiasts. Optional Activities: Night Game Drive with SANP.

Day 9 Final safari and transfer to Port Elizabeth airport
 
After an early morning game drive in Addo we depart the National Park and drive to Port Elizabeth Airport where our tour will end with a transfer you to Port Elizabeth airport where the tour finishes at approx. 10.00 (suitable for flight departures from midday onwards). There are lots of short flight connections from Port Elizabeth airport to either Johannesburg or Cape Town international airports throughout the day which connect well onto onward international flights.
