This is our signature Jordan small-group tour, mixing the classic sites of Jerash and Petra with easy forest and canyon walks, a Wadi Rum jeep safari and Bedouin experience, a Dead Sea swim, ruined Desert Castles, and much more.
The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has caused unprecedented upheaval for the world, including upsetting the plans of people looking forward to travelling abroad. We are committed to providing safe and enjoyable holidays for our customers, and as a result have suspended all our tours departing from 19th March through until the 31st October in all destinations except Turkey and Greece where we were able to restart our operations again from 1st August.
More countries are now re-opening to tourists though and putting updated rules and precautions in place to ensure that tourist travel within them is as safe as possible. In conjunction with our own Safer Encounters scheme we are now also starting to offer travel to more of our destinations.
We'd like to thank all our travellers who missed their holidays over the last year for their patience while we have worked through their bookings. We also owe a debt of thanks to our friends, partners and providers in our destinations who work so hard on our customers' behalf, and who have had virtually no income and a very uncertain future ahead of them without tourists visiting. Many live in countries with relatively poorly developed health systems, so our best wishes go to them all. They are all working hard to be ready to welcome our customers again soon. The support provided by our travellers who have agreed to delay refunds, rebook for a future date or to donate part of their refund to the guides and local staff who would have been looking after them has been invaluable and hugely welcomed by us all.
We are accepting bookings for all our tours and destinations from the start of 2021 onwards, with our new Flexible Booking Conditions allowing for short notice date change requests and later balance payments. Bookings can also be made for some destinations for travel in the remainder of 2020.
As we complete our Safer Encounters audits and finalise our new operating procedures in each destination, we will keep adding to the list of destinations shown above. This reflects the fact that we have customers booking with us from all over the world who we are finding can have very different circumstances, including their personal availability and desire to travel, as well as the coronavirus situation in their home country.
Travelling anywhere abroad while the pandemic continues is going to involve extra complications for some time; for example some countries are requiring negative Covid-19 PCR tests before travel and/or on arrival. Your home country may also require a period of self isolation after returning from some destinations. Information and advice will be provided for all countries which we are running tours in.
Because of this, we understand that it is still not the right time for everyone to start travelling again, and any people with new or existing bookings to the above destinations due to travel until the end of 2020 may change their dates or cancel their bookings in line with our Flexible Booking Conditions
This applies to all destinations except the majority of Greece and Turkey where tours restarted from 1st August.
All affected travellers who agree to postpone their travel will receive a credit of 110% of all payments made towards their land tour. New bookings should be confirmed before 31 Dec 2021, for travel before 31 Dec 2022. Travel insurance can be adjusted to cover your new date provided no claims have been made.
We will adjust all bookings to show your available credit automatically. You may travel on the same tour, or change itinerary or destination if you wish.
Bookings including international flights will be adjusted subject to your airline's rules. Many airlines are waiving change fees, but some are not allowing full cancellations or refunds and just providing rebooking vouchers. Airlines and flight agents remain swamped with requests for changes and cancellations so please be patient if requesting changes. We will advise new flight times and ticket details for your new date as soon as we can.
Notes on credits and airline fees:
We do encourage as many of our travellers as possible to take up the credit voucher option if their tour is cancelled. This will both enable us to support our own staff and just as importantly our teams of local guides and representatives around the world who rely so hugely on incoming tourism and are being hit hard at the moment. It will also make sure that you have an exciting holiday to look forward to and at a time convenient to you. If this really isn't an option for you, then please do get in touch with our travel consultant team and they will discuss next steps regarding cancellations and refunds.
The suspension of tours is being extended on a rolling basis. This allows us to prioritise our reduced available staff's time on departures due to depart shortly, and to give as many people as possible the opportunity to still enjoy the holiday they've been looking forward to.
At this stage, our tours starting from 1st August onwards (Turkey & Greece) and from 1st November (other destinations) are scheduled to operate as planned, starting after our Safer Encounters audits have been completed and new protocols put in place.
However, we remain aware that for all kinds of reasons, many of our travellers may wish to change their plans. To offer as much flexibility as possible, we have made significant changes to the rebooking and cancellation terms for our travellers with existing bookings departing during this period.
After assessing and following the ticket rules set by your airline if a flight is included in your booking, there will be:
