So here's how it works. Before you start your second trip with us, we will send you a free 'Passport to Adventure' with a stamp for your first country/tour. You should then take this along with you on every Encounters Travel tour you go on. On each future trip we'll then stamp your passport with one of our special Encounters stamps, which are unique to each of our countries. The more you collect, the more savings you and your friends will make. It's that simple!

Egypt & Middle East

We offer a wide range of day tours in Egypt. Most tours start and finish in Cairo and can be added to an existing tour with us, or booked on a standalone basis. Pick ups from any hotel in Cairo are included and we'll drop you back there at the end of the tour. Alternatively if you are only flying into the city for the day we can start and finish the tour at the airport and customise the daily itinerary to fit in with your flight times. This works particularly well if you are staying in one of the Red Sea resorts and would like to see a bit more of Egypt during yoru stay. Tours are arranged privately with an AC vehicle, driver and professional tour guide accompanying you.

EGYPT DAY TOURS

PYRAMIDS & MUSEUM

Egypt

This tour provides a great introduction to Egypt's spectacular ancient history. We will visit the three huge pyramids at Gisa with a local Egyptologist guide, and learn about the history of pyramid building. We also tour the enigmatic Sphinx and after a break for lunch, head into the centre of Cairo to visit the famous Egyptian Museum.

VALLEY OF THE WHALES

This full day tour from Cairo visits the World Heritage Site of the Valley of the Whales at Wadi Hitan in the Fayoum Oasis region, a couple of hours drive outside the city. It provides a fascinating and beautiful contrast to the usual ancient Egyptian pharaonic sites that the rest of your time in Egypt may have concentrated on.

This half day tour visits several less-visited ancient Egyptian sites on the outskirts of Cairo and provides a more in depth insight into the history and evolution of pyramid building. We see some early Mastabas, Zoser's step pyramid and the Imhotep Museum at Saqqara, followed by the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid at Dashour.
