I purchased my rid tour as part of a group coupon. Is obituary hesitant but my tour was great. The staff at Encounters were professional and helpful. I had a lot of questions but no one made me feel like a pest. Good experience.
I always wanted to go to Morocco and I finally got to go last September. I'm glad I chose this tour group. They were professional and attentive. Good times!

I thought it was very good we didn't have to worry about anything everything was in order and kept with the schedule as planned, unless we wanted to deviated from it to do somethingelse. The trip really a trip of a life time.
There was a time many years ago that I wanted to travel to Egypt and didn't because of the cost. This trip was, to me, very affordable. I think everyone should experience this trip. The tour guide was alos excellent, Sherif Mohammad.

Everything about the trip was thought through, fine-tuned , and marvelous. From Ant Horribin helping us arrange the trip, to rep Waled Ali, and our guide Big Mo, we could not have asked for a better team. Our sincere thanks to them.

Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is positioned mainly in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. Nepal is the 48th largest country by population and the 93rd largest country by area.

The countries that border Nepal include China to the north and India in the south, east, and west while Bangladesh is situated by the southeastern tip. The geography of Nepal is diverse with fertile plains, forested hills and eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth.

The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu, which is also the nation's largest city. Nepal is a multiethnic nation with Nepali as the official language. Nepal is also home to at least four indigenous sign languages. Nepali is written in the Devanagari script, which derives from Sanskrit. The official religion in Nepal is Hinduism, followed by Buddhism and Islam.

There are five seasons in Nepal: summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. The Himalayas stop cold winds from reaching Central Asia in the winter. Nepal is a popular destination for trekking as it has some of the highest mountains in the world.

Nepal has 36 public holidays a year, making it the country with the greatest number of public holidays in the world. As Nepal is a secular country, it also enjoys the holidays of the main festivals of minority religions in the nation too.

Highlights

Tips

  • Consider wearing a facemask against Kathmandu's air pollution, especially if you rent a motorcycle or bike.
  • A sideways tilt or wobble of the head means 'yes' in Nepal, not 'no'.
  • Remember to remove your shoes when you enter a private house or a monastery.
  • Wash your hands before eating and use your left hand for eating or passing food.
  • Nepalis rarely shake hands so placing your hands together in prayer is a better option.
  • Check in advance the dates of Nepal's festivals as some businesses shut down for days.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle and filter/chemical tablets to purify water when trekking.
  • Pack a head torch for trekking in the mountains and for power cuts in cities.
