TOUR REVIEWS

I liked the fact we were met at the airport and helped thru customs and getting a visa and then upon leaving taken to where we needed to go. Its always tough to figure out where everything is in a foreign airport when you do not travel much
We had a wonderful time and great memories. We felt safe the whole time and would recommend this trip to anyone of any age as long as you can walk a lot. They are with you from arrival to departure and any problems that arose the guides would try their best to solve. They also showed remarkable patience for other people in other groups we saw that were acting like idiots.

Conscientious in early communication; knowledgeable, humorous and caring tour guides; an exemplary itinerary that was well organized yet flexible; an overall extraordinary experience. I'd recommend them enthusiastically.

Amazing tour. Any issues we had were addressed in a timely fashion and the resolutions were satisfactory. My only complaint is the driver picking us up was late and none of the cell numbers worked when we tried to call and figure out what to do.

Everything was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and liked that we were interested in what he was telling us. We were lucky to be in a group with like minded people who also wanted to stay in places longer of which our guide accommodated. Only negative thing was the sitting train. Best to just take the flying option. Train was not bad but has no services, no alcohol, and breakfast was all carbs and an egg. Egypt really seems to like their breads and pastries....

I have dealt with Anthony Horrobin on a number of occasions and it is like talking to an old friend on the phone. Anthony is super-efficient and will always go the extra mile to create the perfect trip.

Since China opened its arms to travellers from all over the globe in the 1970s, the country has experienced massive growth and change.

In fact, it is believed that in less than 10 years, the country will become the first tourist destination with the world's largest number of visitors.

Thousands of tourists visit China every year now, to learn more about its ancient history and the positive future which lies ahead.

There aren't many cultures with a history as long and fascinating as China's, which makes it a very attractive destination to many adventurers looking for an authentic travel experience.

Knowing when to go is very important. If you're planning on visiting China's north-east region, you can expect sweltering summers and icy cold winters. In the south, you'll find a semi-tropical climate.

The best time to go is generally during China's springtime and Autumn.

If you are planning a China tour, there are some things you just cannot miss. Travellers have to see the Great Wall of China - an architectural wonder, the Forbidden City in Beijing, Xi'an's Terracotta Soldier Museum and the Giant Panda's of Chengdu.

China has wide variations in culture, language, customs and economic levels. The economic landscape is particularly diverse. The major cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai are modern and comparatively wealthy. However, about 40% of Chinese people still live in rural areas as of 2018; despite the fact that only 10% of China's land is arable. (source - Wikitravel)

Highlights

  • See the longest wall in the world - the Great Wall of China.
  • Visit the largest ancient palatial structure in the world - the Forbidden City in Beijing.
  • Visit the Terracotta Army Museum in Xi'an - one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world.
  • Explore the Li River - which offers one of the worlds most scenic boat cruises.
  • Marvel at the natural scenery of the Yellow Mountains - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Tips

  • Try to learn basic Mandarin, it will help you quite a bit during your time in China.
  • Carry toilet paper with you - its rarely found in rest rooms.
  • If you need help, try to find a younger local as students have studied English for years.
  • Don't tip in China. The Chinese do not tip and you won't be expected to either.
  • Try to avoid drinking tap water. Bottled water is sold cheaply.
