Despite being a relatively small country, Lebanon is packed with historial monuments, a unique culture and is also home to some of the world's oldest settlements. During our week of exploration, we'll visit the Phoenician cities of Tyre of Sidon, and tour the Beiteddine Palace and what is often considered the best preserved temple complex in the Middle East, Baalbek. You'll also visit the coastal town of Byblos, which is one of a number of cities in the world vying for the title of the oldest continually inhabated city. You'll also visit a number of natural wonders, including wine tasting at the the Ksara Caves, Raouche (or the Pigeon Reock) in Beirut, the dramatic sinkhole and waterfall at Baatara Gorge, the wonderful Jeita Grotto, the beautiful Qadisha Valley, and the Lebanon Cedars Reserve, which was mentioned in the Old Testament.
Standard accommodation is in a range of boutique style hotels at around the 4-star level, though this can be adjusted if you wish. Touring is done with a private guide and driver accompanying you, though self-drive options are also available on request. Departures are available all year round, though the route will be adjusted during the winter months (December to early May) due to snow blocking some of the higher mountainous roads.

Winter route adjustment:
During the winter months (normally from December until sometime in May), the road between Baalbek and Bcharre is closed due to snow. During this period the itinerary will be adjusted so that you return to Beirut for the night of Day 4, instead of spending it in Zahle. You then head to Bcharre from the other side of the mountains on Day 5 and contine the tour from there.
