On a Uganda gorilla trekking tour, you can expect to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, as well as other wildlife like monkeys, birds, and diverse plant life.
The best time of year for gorilla trekking in Uganda is during the dry seasons from June to September and December to February.
Pack lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing, a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, sturdy hiking boots, a rain jacket, gloves, a hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and a camera.
Recommended health precautions include vaccinations for yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A and B, and malaria prophylaxis. It’s also advisable to carry personal medications and a first aid kit.
Safety measures include following the instructions of your guide, keeping a safe distance from the gorillas, not eating or drinking near the animals, and avoiding sudden movements or loud noises.
