This tour completes northern India's classic Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, as well as a further exploration of Rajasthan including Bundi, Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Jodhpur. You also have two wildlife safaris in Ranthambore National Park. Accommodation includes some fabulous converted heritage properties.
You start in Delhi where the sights, sounds and smells of this vibrant country first assault your senses. Next comes the contrasting peace and beauty of the Taj Mahal and the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. You then head into the desert state of Rajasthan, where you visit several towns with hilltop forts and palaces. The accommodation on this part of the tour is particularly memorable, using a variety of converted heritage properties. Breaking up your time in Rajasthan are two wildlife safaris in Ranthambore National Park where you and your guide search for the elusive Bengal Tiger, and see plenty of other wildlife.
There are numerous ways in which we can adjust this tour, including removing some or adding more stops in Rajasthan (such as Bikaner or Jaisalmer), spending more or less time in Ranthambore National Park, and changing the level of the hotels used. These tweaks can make a large difference to the cost of the tour, enabling us to make it fit most budgets.

Restoration of the Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal, one of India's most iconic structures, is getting a much need facelift. The almost-four-century-old Taj Mahal is finally showing signs of ageing. Air pollution is unfortunately turning its ivory-white complexion - yellow. Adding to the colouration problems, the Yamuna River, with which the Taj Mahal shares a river bank, is contaminated and the insects that breed in its waters are leaving patches of green residue on its marble. In order to restore the Taj Mahal's glistening white marble, mud-pack therapy is being used. If you're worried that it might affect your India tour, this handy Taj restoration guide will tell you everything you need to know.
