March is one of the best times to explore the Indian subcontinent. On this 9-day India tour, you get a chance to see the main highlights of this intriguing destination. It starts in Delhi, a pulsating city that is filled to the brim with history. Besides exploring Old Delhi, you get a chance to see the city's modern side when you visit New Delhi as well. Next you head to Jaipur, known as the "pink city", where you visit several famous landmarks, before heading out into a remote village to get a taste of rural lifestyle in India. Your accommodation here is in a converted palace! You visit the famous Abanheri stepwell, which has 3500 steps, before exploring the natural side of India in Kepladeo National Park. We then pay a visit to the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri, which was the seat of Mughal empire at a point in history. We then experience one of this tour's highlights- taking a Heritage Walk through the farms and villages that are found on the banks of the Yamuna River, on the opposite side of the world-famous Taj Mahal. This experience gives you a chance to get unique perspectives of the famous palace, which most visitors don't get to see. You also support the local community at the same time. The tour does also visit the Taj Mahal itself, which takes places t sunrise. You then head back to Delhi, where you visit the enormous Red Fort and Akshardham temple, after which the tour comes to an end.
Sudan is a little-visited destination, but features fascinating cultural and historical sites and stunning natural scenery. It has a history dating back centuries, and many relics and sites of ancient civilisations are found there. This tour consists of 10 days spent exploring this mysterious land and having a truly unique travel experience. During the tour, you visit the capital city of Khartoum, where you can go to the museums, markets, and tombs found in the city. You explore the temples and pyramids of the Nubian desert. The pyramids of Sudan are not as famous as those of Egypt, but they are just as fascinating and memorable to see in person. Other experiences on the tour include camping out in the desert in a sort of "glamping" style, as well as getting the chance to get a feel of the culture of the Nubian people of Sudan. You can do this tour in reverse, with the destinations visited in the opposite order. It is also a good tour to combine with our Egypt tours.
March is an ideal time to visit South Africa. Summer is transitioning into autumn and the weather is pleasant and mild. It's a good time to go on safari, as big cats are easier to spot (they retreat into the shade in the summer). This incredible tour, which is two weeks long, takes you to some of the best destinations in this unique and diverse country that is filled with natural beauty and fascinating places to explore. You start off by going on safari to see the magnificent elephants and other wildlife in Addo Elephant National Park. You then drive through the arid but beautiful Karoo desert to the small landlocked nation of Lesotho, home to spectacular mountain scenery. Here you also get the chance to see the lifestyle of the Basotho people, who live in this region. You then cross back into South Africa, where the province of KwaZulu Natal offers a host of destinations and experiences, from hiking in the breathtaking Drakensberg Mountains to canoeing in the stunning St. Lucia estuary to searching for the Big 5 in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. The tour then takes you into another nation landlocked within South Africa, eSwatini (formerly known as the Kingdom of Swaziland). Here you are able to experience some of the country's natural and cultural highlights, before heading back into South Africa for one of the tour's biggest highlights- the world-famous Kruger National Park. This reserve, the size of a small country, is renowned worldwide for its staggering levels of biodiversity and species of wild animals. The Kruger is located near to the Panorama Route, a famously beautiful scenic route with a number of unique highlights. After visiting the natural phenomena, the tour comes to an end in Johannesburg.
This 8-day Jordan tour combines two destinations that are great to visit during the month of March. It combines historical landmarks with skyscrapers and modern architecture. You first visit Jordan, starting off in the capital city of Amman. You also get the chance to see the fascinating mosaics of Madaba, and the famous Madaba Map: a mosaic believed to be the oldest map in the world of the Middle East during biblical times.
You also spend an entire day exploring the magnificent, iconic site of Petra, an ancient city carved into the rocky valley and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You spend a night out in a Bedouin camp in the vast and beautiful desert of Wadi Rum- an unforgettable experience.
