Tips

Remove your shoes before entering a mosque and cover your head and shoulders.
Prepare to haggle as bargaining is expected by vendors and is part of the local shopping experience.

During the festival of Ramadan, the fasting month, do not eat or drink in public.
Do not touch someone from the opposite sex when you are in a public place.
Learn a few Arabic words so you can speak to the locals when exploring the country.
Keep small change with you (LE5 and LE10 notes) to tip people and to buy small items.
Do not drink the tap water as it is highly chlorinated and can give you an upset stomach.
